Jeff Gorman

Program Director, Owner

Coach Jeff has been training and coaching hockey players for 20+ years.  As a player he grew up playing in NJ and for Delbarton School of Morristown. Before becoming a coach, he played college hockey for Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.  Jeff is a USA Hockey Level 5 Master coach and has coached everything from Mites to AAA Midget hockey.  Jeff has been the Director of Hockey for The Essex Hunt Club for several years.  A self proclaimed hockey lifer, he is proud and grateful to be able to give back to the game he loves.

Chance Gorman

Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator

Coach Chance grew up playing for some of NJ’s best coaches.  He honed his skills playing for The Jersey Penguins, NJ Colonials and NJ Rockets.  Chance played high school hockey at Choate Rosemary Hall in CT.  Post High school he played junior hockey for the NJ Rockets and East Coast Wizards of the EHL.  Chance has enjoyed a successful playing career at Elmira College where as a junior was voted 2022-2023 first team all NEHC and lead the league in goals. Chance is a natural at coaching, has always been a rink rat and just loves to play.

Birch Gorman

Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator

Coach Birch grew up playing for the NJ Penguins, NJ Rockets and spent most of his youth hockey playing for the NJ Youth Devils.  In high school, he was a stand out defenseman for Princeton Day School. After high school, Birch played junior hockey for the Charlotte Rush of the USPHL and The Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL.  Birch will join the Elmira Soaring Eagles as a freshman for the 2023-2024 season. Birch is an avid fitness buff and a tough defenseman who models his game after NY Ranger defensemen Ryan Lindgren and Jacob Trouba.  His coaching style is patient with a focus on the details.

Nick Minerva

Head Coach, Off-Ice Director

Nicholas Minerva brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team. With a lifelong dedication to hockey spanning over two decades, he has played an integral role in the sport as both a player and a coach.
Nicholas’s passion for hockey has driven him to excel at every level. He has not only competed in top leagues across North America, but he has also spent considerable time coaching hockey players and guiding them towards success.

“Hockey has given me my life and I plan to give back as much as I can. Taking care of players and families while guiding them towards their goals and dreams.”

Brody Haynes

Goaltending

Coach Brody was a standout goaltender at the Tier 1 level from very early on in his career.  Playing most of his youth hockey for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers of the AYHL and T1EHL, Coach Brody went on to play junior hockey for the Twin City Thunder of the NCDC where he posted an impressive .938 save percentage.  Brody joined the Elmira Soaring Eagles in the fall of 2022 and is an integral part of the teams success.  As a coach, Brody is a master at teaching the technical skills necessary to become a top level goaltender.  His approachable and caring demeanor make him a popular camp instructor with his students.

Bob Mitchell

Head Coach, Skills Director

There are few coaches in the NJ area that can compare to Coach Bob’s skills instruction.  Coach Mitchell, is renowned as one of the premier hockey coaches in the area.  Whether skating technique or counter-directional skills training, Coach Mitchell always makes training engaging and game relevant.  He was the original hockey director for The Bridgewater Bears organization where he spent 15 seasons leading teams, coaches and sharpening his on ice skills.   Coach Mitchell can breakdown and teach technical skills as well as anyone, but most importantly he does it with the greatest attention paid to player experience.
